Tell Me A Story - Biannual Bibliothon Day 16 Blogger Challenge

Morning fellow nerds!

Have you ever wondered what would happen if Luna Lovegood met Blue Sargent? Or Cath met Harry Potter? Maybe you just think some sidekicks deserved to be the centre of attention. Well, this challenge is for you.

Today’s blogging challenge is titled TELL ME A STORY and the rules are simple:

1. Write a short story containing at least 5 characters from at least 4 different stories (I’m pretty open here, you can use books, tv, movies, folklore - anything is fair game! And yes, this is essential a short-story-fan-fiction-challenge!).
2. Write a short of bibliography at the end, stating which character was from which original story, with the author attributed.
3. Be creative! Have fun!

To submit your story, simply comment down below with the link to your post! You can post your story on a blog, in a video, in a twitter thread, in a photo - like I said, be as creative as you want!

You can see my story down below, as an example! Enjoy! <3.

Lila was not pleased. Most teenagers in the foster system would have loved to get a scholarship, but not Lila. She did not want to be here, she wanted to be on a ship sailing far far away from this garbage city. But, at lease it would be almost comedically easy to steal from these suckers.

Vasya was in the wrong time. She was thinking this as she sat down on the bench outside her dorm. There were no folk stories about girls who moved to a city to go to college. There were no folk stories, period, in this dumb time-period, period. She wished she lived in the wilderness of Russia hundreds of years ago. But, also, that would be horrible because you know, she is a girl. History isn’t nice to girls.

Denna was angry at the world. The world was not nice to girls, and Denna was not one to let things go. When you had parents that basically ignored your existence, and men who would rather use you then pay attention to you, you grow to trust no one. Except other girls. She’ll do anything to protect other girls.

Blue was missing her home. Her family. Her boys. But the missing only just slightly outweighed the excitement. She got in, she got in and she came. She did it, and she wasn’t going to take that for granted at all. Plus, her Ravens would visit, they promised.

Lila looked at her dorm room assignment and started walking to Dundas Dorm, right at the edge of school. By the time she was at the walkway to Dundas, she had 2 wallets and a cell phone in her bag.

Vasya was already outside the door to Dundas, in the mini quad.

Denna was wary of Dundas House, but she had her hand on the door anyway.

Blue was hopeful Dundas would bring her a new family.

Vasya got up from her bench, and walked right into Lila. Now, in most stories, they would both say sorry and help each other pick up their stuff, but this wasn’t most stories, this was Lila and Vasya’s stories, and neither one felt the need to apologize for taking up space on this earth.

So naturally, they just scowled. While scowling, and picking up their own things, a scraggly guy popped up beside them.

Speaking almost too fast, the scraggly guy said: “Have you seen a tall guy that looks a little too pale for September and a little too out of it to be here, but also looks much smarter than anyone else you know?” He caught his breath, putting his hands on his knees. Smiling, he held out his hand to the girls, “I’m Sirius, by the way.”

“Yeah, I assumed so, Breathy,” scowled Lila.

“Huh?” The scraggly boy looked confused, so Vasya filled in the gap.

“We can tell you are serious, you spoke so fast we assumed it was a surprise auction.”

He laughed, a full belly, body shaking laugh, “No, my name is Sirius. Spelt: S I R I U S.”

“Why did your parents hate you?” Lila asked, straight faced.

“Excu-“ Before he could continue, Blue walked up the group, not able to keep her mouth shut. Ever.

“Are you looking for the guy with the bags under his eyes? Tall, lanky, pale, EXTREMELY NICE?” She asked, all confidence.

Sirius perked up, looking at Blue. “YOU’VE SEEN REMUS?”

“WHO NAMED YOU PEOPLE?” Lila added.

Denna had stood on the sidelines watching Lila take scraggly’s wallet, Blue’s bracelet and Vasya’s brooch off her bag, all while maintaining eye contact and participating in the conversation. She was good. Denna should be’friend’ this person. She could prove useful.

Scraggly ran off at an alarming speed, leaving the girls staring at each other. At this point, Blue, never one to keep her mouth shut, and always one to notice things others wouldn’t said: “Hey, Harriet-The-Spy, what are you doing?”

Lila and Vasya just looked at Blue, both annoyed and confused, but Denna looked right into Blue’s eyes, put on her best ‘trust me’ smile, and walked right over to them.

“Hi,” Denna beamed.

Lila’s eyebrows raised, Vasya opened her mouth to talk, but thought better of it, but Blue had no problem speaking up, “What were you looking at?”

Denna feigned stupidity, “I’m sorry?”

“The entire time we were talking to that boy, you were staring at us. Why?”

“I was no-“ But she never finished because just as she began to speak a tall, lanky, sullenly smart looking man walked up to them.

Unlike the last one, he didn't show up out of nowhere, he slowly walked up and said “Excuse me, girls, but have you seen a guy recently? Long hair, kinda looks like a slightly unloved, yet lovable dog?”

“Are you Remus, by any chance?” Blue said, perfectly articulating his name.

“Why, yes. Yes, I am. How did you know that?” Remus was smiling, a full on childish grin.

“Dog guy was just here,” Lila said, pointing to the path Sirius ran down. “He went that way, better run though, he was fast.”

“I sure hope so.” He looked worried, “I need to find him. Before they kill eachother. And we need to get the map back.” Nothing he said made any sense, but before leaving to chase after his friend, he thanked each girl.

“I like them,” Blue smiled.

The other girls looked at her like she might be the weirdest of the bunch. Although that was a hard level to judge.

“As much as this is starting to look like a horrible 90s comedy movie, I think I’m going to head up to my dorm.” Vasya said.

“Me too,” Lila said as she pushed past the group the door of Dundas Dorm.

All 4 girls were at the door within 10 seconds.

“You ALL live here?” Asked Vasya.

Lila’s hand was almost on the door when a greasy looking long dark haired boy threw himself in front of it.

“Um, excuse the fuc -.” Lila was saying as he spoke over her. Loudly.

“Where are they?” He snarled.

“Excuse me, but who the hell are you?” Vasya said, as she stepped to the front of the pack of girls.

“I am looking for a gross looking, horrible choice making, likely came across charming to you, guy, and a scrawny pale dude who would have been overly nice to the bunch of you.” He said, while clenching his teeth. Then a little lighter, he whispered, “even though they are little shitdisturbers who ruined my chances at love and happiness.”

“No offence,” Blue said, then waited for him to say his name, and when he didn't she just shook her head and went on. “No one ruins your chance at love and happiness except you.”

“Okay, little girl,” He started, but Denna jumped in -

“- don’t you DARE ‘little girl’ her, you giant can of Crisco.” Denna stepped in front of Blue.

“The little shit put red dye in my laundry detergent and made all my black clothes bright red. And his best friend fell in love with the love of my life and stole her from me and then had her baby and now I hate everyone and I want to make them pay. And I’m going to hate the child, who did nothing, and make his life as hard as possible, because his mom didn't love me back.” He was screaming at this point, and all four girls looked like they wanted to laugh, and punch him all at once. But it was Blue that spoke first.

“I’m sorry, you hate these boys because their FRIEND is dating a girl you like?” She said it like she was genuinely curious, but man did it sound dumb.

“Whatever, nevermind,” The greasy guy said, aggreviated.

“SEVERUS, YOU SNARLING BAG OF SELF-DEPRICATION, GIVE ME MY MAP BACK!” The straggly one screamed as he ran up the walkway to the dorm.

The greasy one twisted out of the group of girls and ran the opposite way, screaming, “YOU’LL HAVE TO RIP IT FROM MY COLD DEAD HANDS!”

“I WILL, YOU… YOU…-“ Sirius was screaming as he ran, but when he passed the girls, he mouthed a thank you to them all.

Remus was trailing behind him, trying to hard to keep up. “Sirius, sweetie, let him go! It’s just a map! He can’t read it anyway!” He was passing the girls as he said, “Have a good day, ladies.”

The girls looked at each other, bewildered, when Lila said, confused, “Did he just call that grease ball, emotionally stunted, anger management case, SEVERUS?”

“He did,” said Blue.

“SERIOUSLY, WHO THE HELL NAMED THESE PEOPLE?” Lila blurted.

They all laughed. Full blown, feel it in your toes, laughter.

“So weird..” said Vasya.

Lila and Denna nodded, but Blue just smiled and said, “I think I like them.”

“Well, we will likely see them again,” Lila smirked, holding up a map.
